EI收录的中国（中文）期刊往往论文质量高，主题新颖、前卫，理论深人、严谨，研究手段先进、独特，数据全面、可靠，写作格式严格、规范。就我国目前情况看，工程技术类期刊与论文的质量和水平已得到世界认可（指EI），但基础研究类与世界先进水平还存在一定差距。
期刊论文进入EI等国际检索系统的意义：
（1）加大论文信息传播的力度、速度和广度，吸引读者，拓宽国内外的读者面，提高论文乃至期刊在国内外的被引频次；
（2）引起期刊重视，提高作者论文的采用率；
（3）推动国际学术交流，促进科学研究工作；
（4）促进论文编写格式的标准化和规范化，并与国际文献接轨；
（5）提高论文乃至期刊的社会效益、经济效益；提高作者、期刊、工作单位在国内外的学术地位和知名度。
